How exactly does travellingsafe help to protect me?
In a number of ways; if you are found needing help, an emergency worker or other helper can find out who you are, what your basic medical details are and where and how they can contact relatives or friends. We keep track of anyone who asks for this information so there is always a record that can be referred to. You can also post details of your forward itinerary so that friends, contacts and family will know where you are due to be, by when. Our bulletin board messaging facility provides a fast and convenient way to keep in touch with those left behind, so they don’t worry about you.
How does anyone who needs to help me
know who I am?
You will be sent a tough wristband that has a unique identification number and our emergency web contact address, www.ts-sos.com.
What if I lose my wristband?
Enter the site, enter your user name and password and we’ll courier you a new wristband within 2 days. Depending on where you are, a charge will apply, which you will be advised at the time.
If I get a new wristband, will all my contacts be lost?
No, the database will be updated automatically.
How secure are my details?
Our technology holds your data which is only available to those that you authorise by providing a password. Emergency contact and medical details are available to any helper who enters the unique number in TS-SOS, but the nature of this information is not sensitive and does not disclose any details which you choose to keep secret. You will not be asked to enter any credit card numbers or other information which could make you vulnerable.
Is the service always available?
24 hours a day, 365 days a year from anywhere that it is possible to get internet access.
What if I forget my password?
The site will prompt you what to do
How secure is your payment process?
We use the same service provider that is used by the majority of big internet companies, such as Ebay, so it is firmly tried and tested.
Can I remove my contact details or change them?
Yes, at any time, via the site
What happens if I choose to stop payment after the initial 6 month period, or whenever I stop travelling?
Remember, the service gives you protection even when you are not travelling abroad – accidents can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Even if you decide to make no more payment after the minimum 6 month membership period, your emergency contact and medical details will be held on our database until you ask for them to be removed. However, if you wish to change anything whilst not a paid-up member, we will charge you £1.99 for each entry to cover our administration charges.
Can I use the site to keep in touch with friends and family – or new people I meet whilst travelling?
Yes. Our platform enables you to compile contact lists so you have no fear of losing details that you’ve jotted down on scraps of paper! You can even send bulletin updates to all of your contacts at once, to save time on sending multiple e mails.
